Through the project “Labour Inspectorate Efficiency,” funded by the Government of Sweden and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Central Labour Inspectorate has received five vehicles aimed at further strengthening operational capacities and improving mobility in carrying out field inspection activities.

Pristina, Kosovo – On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Central Labour Inspectorate has been equipped with five additional vehicles, which will be distributed across five different regions of Kosovo in accordance with operational needs for field inspections.
This support is provided within the framework of the project “Labour Inspectorate Efficiency,” funded by the Government of Sweden, which aims to strengthen institutional capacities through technical assistance, professional development, and improved working conditions, in line with international labour standards and the objectives of promoting decent work.
Improved mobility of inspectors is expected to contribute to increased inspection efficiency, strengthened field presence, and faster response to issues related to occupational safety and health, as well as to more effective enforcement of labour legislation.
The event was attended by high-level institutional and international representatives, including the Minister of Labour, Family and War Veterans’ Values, Mr. Andin Hoti; the Head of Development Cooperation / Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden, Mr. Henrik Riby; the Senior Programme Officer of the ILO, Mr. Blerim Murtezi; as well as representatives of workers’ and employers’ organizations, civil society, and the media, reaffirming the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in the field of occupational safety and health.
Acting Chief Labour Inspector Mr. Kastriot Jashari, in his remarks, highlighted the continued support of the Government of Sweden in strengthening the capacities of the Central Labour Inspectorate, including the digitalization of inspection processes, provision of tablets and portable printers, and other important support measures aimed at modernizing inspection work and increasing institutional efficiency in improving working conditions and occupational safety and health.
The handover of the vehicles took place as part of the activities marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which promotes safe and healthy working environments.
This support represents a concrete step toward further strengthening the capacities of the Central Labour Inspectorate and improving the quality of inspection services in the field.
